Dear Mrs. Updegraff,
since I accidentaly found your blog in internet, I contact you because I know you roote as I do from the dutch and german De Graeff/Von Graben. The family Gräff -as it is written in German now- in Austria established newly a union which has the aim to keep as many as possible Graeff (De Graeff, Gräff, Op den Graeff) people rooting from the old one Family in contact and in exchange. I sent you below the link to our web page and I would appreciate if you by time would take a look of it. Even it would be fine if you could contact the family of Updegraff and give them some information, too.
I would be very glad to hear from you.

Just a small part of the beginning of our early lineage
Ancrestor Wolfgang von Graben (1465/1521) – from the old austrian House of Von Graben, a cadet branch of the Meinhardinian dukes and counts – he has got 2 (alleged) sons
I) Pieter Graeff (* 1484), my ancrestor
– Dutch family (De) Graeff (van Polsbroek)
II) Abraham op den Graeff (1485/1561) married to Matriarch van de Aldekerk (1500-1525), your ancrestor
– German Op den Graeffs, some of them imigrat to Pennsylvania; the Pennsylvanian gouverneur Samuel W. Pennypacker was also a direct descendant of Abraham
I) Hermann op den Graeff (van de Aldekerk) (born 1520), married to princess Amalia von Kleve
I) Anna op den Graeff van de Aldekerk (1557-1613), married to her cousin Johan Wilhelm, Graf von der Marck, Herzog von Jülich-Kleve-Berg (1562-1609)
I) Hermann op den Graeff (1585-1642) , he got the Graeff-name from his motherside, his grandchildren Abraham op den Graeff imigrat to Pennsylvania (Germantown) in 1683; your roots go back to them

Hello. Nice to hear from you! I wasn’t expecting to find an Austrian connection through the Updegraff line. I have heard the connection with the Kleve family, but I thought that was mostly a rumor. I’m very interested to hear more! I’ll send you an email.
